WHY: In advance of the mass festival, march, and protest in Richmond on Saturday, August 15 targeting Chevron, groups representing Richmond, the Bay Area, the state, and communities from around the world will discuss campaigns targeting Chevron.
Members of the Mobilization for Climate Justice-West—a diverse network of more than 30 organizations and concerned community members demanding clean air and green jobs for Richmond, and climate justice for all—will also present its demands and what to expect on Saturday, including:
11:30am Festival at the Richmond BART
1:00pm March from BART to Chevron Refinery
3:00pm Protest at the Refinery and a Press Conference.
With more events to come on the road to the critical UN climate talks in Copenhagen in December.
